How to get clear skin ? 10 proven tips for oily and dry skin

Posted by Sarah Arif on

Here are the 10 proven steps to get clear skin:

  • Cleanse your skin twice a day. Use a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type to remove excess oil, dirt, and bacteria.
  • Avoid touching your face. Touching your face with your hands can transfer bacteria and oils, leading to breakouts. Also, avoid using towels on face.
  • Use non-comedogenic products. Choose skincare and cosmetic products labeled as non-comedogenic, meaning they don't clog pores.
  • Exfoliate regularly. Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and contribute to acne.
  • Use topical treatments. Over-the-counter creams, gels, or lotions containing ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tactic acid or retinoids can help unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and prevent acne breakouts. You can also add Vitamin C serums or creams for some skin brightens.
  • Moisturize your skin. Even if you have oily skin, it's important to keep it moisturized. Look for oil-free or non-comedogenic moisturizers that won't clog your pores. For people with dry skin type, use a thick moisturizer twice a day.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure. Protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen and limit your time in the sun. Try to use an AM moisturizer with SPF 30 at home especially during Summer.
  • Maintain a healthy diet. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can contribute to overall skin health.
  • Watch your Vitamins: Take Multi-vitamins for a healthier looking skin and hair.
  • Manage stress. Stress can contribute to acne flare-ups. Practice stress-management techniques like exercise, meditation, or deep breathing exercises to help reduce stress levels and improve your skin's condition.
  • Seek professional help. If your acne or any other skin related issues persist or is severe, it's advisable to consult a dermatologist. Do not use DIY techniques to cure.
